150 students representing companies across Maryland graduated on May 31, 2018, from craft training programs from three chapters across the state of Maryland: Baltimore, Chesapeake Shores and Metro Washington at UMBC’s RAC Arena.
Secretary of Labor, Kelly Schulz was in attendance, gave remarks, and introduced the evening’s commencement speaker, Governor Larry Hogan. The governor congratulated the graduates who he stated were the ‘backbone of the economy’ and thanked ABC for its dedication to the growing workforce. He expressed his investment in registered apprenticeship – which are jobs for individuals that are ‘earned and learned.’
The event was a great opportunity to see first-hand how craft training shapes the future of the construction industry’s workforce.
A special thank you to our event sponsors.
