TRAINS your workforce
ABC is the largest provider of apprenticeship and craft training in the state. In collaboration with the Community College of Baltimore County, we offer state-approved training for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, sheet metal, and sprinkler fitter. Through our school-to-work programs in Baltimore City and Baltimore, Harford, and Cecil Counties, we help high school students get a jump start on their careers. ABC members save nearly 50 percent on the cost of tuition.

ABC's national healthcare insurance program exists solely for ABC members. ABC Insurance specializes in working with contractors. It's a group insurance team with the resources to support your company, whether you're locally or nationally based. ABC Insurance strives to advance the Merit Shop philosophy and works to strengthen ABC's position as the premier employee benefits resource for your company and the construction industry.

The chapter's award winning newsletters and legislative updates keep you informed of important industry developments locally, in Annapolis, and on Capitol Hill. ABC Today keeps you abreast of changes in the industry and provides you with valuable management and financial information that could affect your business.
PROVIDES safety training
ABC employs a full-time safety director. In fact, our safety director is your safety director. We offer a variety of low cost safety training services such as written safety plans, OSHA 10-Hour Certification, First Aid/CPR Certification, Mock MOSH inspections and more! ABC will also help you in the event you are cited for any safety violations, whether it is to answer your questions or to accompany you to a hearing.

Each month, the chapter offers an opportunity for you to meet and network with your fellow ABC members. From our awards program in the spring; to our Network @ Night; to the bull roast in the fall; to our black tie Winter Gala; the chapter provides a variety of opportunities to make that important connection with general contractors, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
REACHES out to your clients
ABC provides a variety of forums for you to reach your clients. ABC has a formal partnership with the American Institute of Architects and actively promotes ABC members to the owner and designer community through forums, publications, and advertising.
RECOGNIZES your work
ABC offers a variety of programs that promote your company to your most important audience: your clients. ABC's Awards of Excellence program in the spring is one of the best-attended events of the year. Your excellent work is also showcased in The Daily Record and the chapter's Membership Directory. eplanexpressTM Members now have access to plans and specs on-line. Contractors can place drawings on-line through ABC's partner, Maryland Reprographics. Generals save money on printing costs, and Subs can look at jobs without ever leaving their office!
EDUCATES your job-site supervisors
ABC offers extensive training for project managers and superintendents. Our Project Manager Academy and Superintendent Academy are offered through the community colleges of Baltimore County and Howard County. These 10-week-long academies, which are our best attended programs of the year, were developed by Clemson University and the National Center for Construction Education & Research. ABC also offers training in blueprint reading, estimating, construction software, and much more.
HANDLES your labor problems
Management and labor issues have long plagued business owners. "How do you protect your company interests when hiring or firing?" ABC members have available to them a wide array of human resources and legal services designed to help them effectively navigate these potentially hazardous issues. ABC members receive information on everything from "fool-proof" employee applications to how to handle a union organizing campaign. ABC members also receive a free initial legal consultation.

ABC Baltimore works hard on behalf of its members in Annapolis and on Capitol Hill. And we are making a difference. According to Fortune Magazine, ABC has become the most influential organization in the country to represent commercial contractors. In Annapolis we have introduced and helped pass laws that help you save money on training and on workers comp. We've also defeated bills that would have hurt the competitiveness of merit shop contractors.
